First Surgery Down

Dad had surgery today on his cracked pelvis, and after 8 hours of surgery, everything went well! He does have a few fractures that they can't safely reach, so they will have to heal naturally, but they fixed the worst part of it. He also responded to all of the nerve tests as well, so that is a great sign. His pelvis was his most serious injury, and what they were most worried about, so the worst is over now!

They will be doing surgery on his ribs tomorrow, plating each of the broken ribs. He is still sedated, and probably will be for the next few days. He has absolutely top notch surgeons, so we are very blessed that he was able to be moved to the Murray hospital so quickly.

Thanks again for all of your support! We really will never be able to thank you enough for all of the love we have felt in these past 48 hours. Even though we haven't been able to respond to many attempts to contact, due to how hectic and stressful this whole ordeal has been, please know that we have received them and appreciate each and every one of you and the love you have for Dad and our family.

P.S. Any birthday wishes will be read to him tomorrow during our mini birthday party in the hospital room

  2. It's been a few years so in our minds your still in your early years with a young family at home. The Christmas cards tell us that has changed but it's hard to imagine. Always enjoyed your company, wit and wisdom. Loved attending your weekly education classes for adults!! Whenever we hear of someone attending the university down there we tell them to look for the BEST seminary teacher there, Brother Longmore. Happy Birthday Keith though I hope you sleep through most of it! May they put your pain pill in a peice of cake and we'll all be making some wishes that you'll have the best recovery ever!

  3. We are praying for you, with many of our friends. We hope that you have a speedy recovery. All of the CHTT were all shocked and saddened by your accident, but we are sending lots of love and prayers for your healing. We all still need you here, you have such an incredible positive impact on everyone who meets you. Lots of Hugs, just light ones. ;)

  5. Keith, as your favorite missionary companion I believe I can speak for all those whom with you served these many years hence (33'ish years?). We love you and our mightiest prayers are being offered in your behalf. Words cannot describe how your great and noble spirit has touched ours and the lives of many others through your service, unwavering dedication and generous smile. I was so grateful to have reconnected with you recently last month at Sam Hawk's for lunch. I love you brother, and look forward to visiting with you soon. Happy Birthday Keith! David Ballif

  8. Bishop, if they can do as much good to your pelvis as you've done in my life, you'll be just fine. I love you. Happy Birthday!

  9. Keith,

Happy Birthday!!! The interfaith community of Utah Valley has been notified of your condition and is united in prayer on your behalf and your family. Mormons and everybody else are pulling for you and, as you well appreciate, in that collective pool of faith "all are alike unto God."

    Peace be upon you.
